I have a 2000 FXDX that I repainted "HOT ROD BLACK". I believe the brand was SAS. It was a kit that came with basecoat and hardner for $75.00. I lays down really good. When I park it next to one of the Black Denim bikes you can't tell the difference. It is called a black satin finish. The hot rodders have used this color for years. I didn't use any clear coat either and have not had any problems . The next time I repaint the bike I will probably try a satin clear coat. When I was at Thunder Beach in PC laxt year I had a hippie dude paint "HARLEY DANIELS" on both side of the tank. This guy was great.

I am going to probably buy from this site next time: http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/ksflatz.aspx

They have alot of products and hot rod flat color selections.

Good Luck.

Good luck, Ive seen severalr very good painters that had a very hard time matching it using HD paint. Pressure, distance and pattern are VERY important. Seen it come out quite blue after drying.

Best bet is to paint all the parts so they match each other!
