My interest in motorcycles is a fairly recent phenominon. At age 53, I'm towards the end of my career. (I'm in Public Safety and can retire earlier than most) I have worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices over the years while raising a family- Like...my truck is a 1985, and I've worked two jobs most of my adult life. I haven't owned anything new that was mine and mine alone since that 1973 CJ5 I purchased for myself at a cost of $3,280 back when I was in the military. I'm finally in the position where I can do something for me. (My job tends to be on the high-stress side, so I was searching for a way to "down load" once in awhile.)

Some of my co-workers ride bikes...Harleys, mostly. Their influence on my choice of what brand bike to buy is certainly a factor, but not the only factor. Sure, I looked at all the major metric bikes. In most cases the quality of the metrics matches or exceeds that of the Motor Company. And, they can be had at half the price of a comparible Harley! So, why buy a Harley?

I can't explain it to someone that just doesn't know why! Its the gutteral sound of that motor that plucks a primal chord...its the history...the comradire...possibly its the desire in some of us older farts to once again feel that cockiness of strutting our stuff like back in the day. Its also AMERICAN! What else can be said?

I don't think much of all the gimmickery now infused in HD. I doubt that I'll be buying all that HD clothing stuff! But when I throw a leg over that Harley and hear and feel that rumble when it comes to life I won't be thinking about the cost, that's for sure.

sickevan,

When I finish building the Harley page to my website, I would like to add a link to your site if you don't mind. It certainly won't cost you anything, and it might even bring you some business.

I like the small guy and I'm always looking to find ways to support him.

Ride safe, brother.

Send it, I'll put you on there. No cost to me, and it might help you and someone else looking for a product you sell out.
