Default Emission controls

I have a 03 low rider from California with the emissions junk on it. Does anyone know what is involved to take it off without screwing up the engine. I have a service manual that shows it all I just don't want the bike to start running like crap. It looks like I can take off the charcoal canister and plug up some lines, however I'm worried about what else might be affected.

Since we all know you are doing this on a bike meant for off-road use, I'll tell you to just rip it all off, plug the lines & holes where needed. If it runs like crap, put some of it back on. That stupid cannister is to recover fuel vapor, and shouldn't mess with how the bike runs if it falls off when you hit a bump.

doubt if you should plug the cannister line - it's just the fuel tank vent line. I don't know if HD uses a solenoid to purge the cannister or not - I'll check tomorrow. On my BMW, I threw away the cannister and vented the tank in a normal fashion. I left the solenoid connected to the computer so as to miss the fault code. There's a line that runs from either the can or the solenoid to the intake manifold - that one does need plugged.

Thanks for the info! Of course it was for my off road bike, don't know what I was thinking. Think I need to spend the weekend riding to clear my head! To hell with yard work.
