Default removing fairing

any one out there that can tell me how to remove the fairing on my 06 electra glide standard. I am installing a radio and speakers and sure could use some advice before I just start removing things.

Default RE: removing fairing

Standing in front of the mtc remove the loosen the three winshield screws. Raise & remove the windshield. On the inner fairinf remove the two screws just outboard of the speaker one on each side. Turn the handle bar as far as it will go to one side. Remove the screw below the fairing cap. Turn the handle bar to the opposite direction and remove the screw from the other side. Go back to the front and remove the windshield screws. Tilt the fairing forward and remove the headlight plug. The fairing is now ready to remove. All of the screws should be T27.

Default RE: removing fairing

I just had mine off last weekend to install a stereo,I'll add just a couple things i did ......1) pair of socks over the driving lights to avoid any scratches
2) i put the middle screw back in the windshield hole a few turns, just in case

you've got good directions from the post above,i was abit nervous about taking mine off,but it was a piece of cake! getting it back on took me longer, lol
