Default 14" chubby handlebars

I am installing 14" chubby apes on my softail. They are 1 1/4" diameter with 1" center and grip diameter for use with stock controls. The tapered grip area is about 7" long, and the grips and control housings are about 8" long, which won't allow the brake and clutch housings to clamp on. If anybody knows anything about this help would be appreciated. Thank you.
