Default Windshield Height Guidelines

On the used Softail I purchased, it has the low profile windwhield (detachable style). My eye line is well above the top windshield edge. Two questions: 1) is the hardware the same between the windshields so all I would have to do is replace the Lexan, and 2) what are the guidelines for how high the edge should be? I can certainly feel my full face helmet get buffetted by the wind from the top edge, so higher seems better but how high. Thanks.

Default RE: Windshield Height Guidelines

I think the rule of thumb is that you should just looking over the top of the windshield. I have the standard size and that seems ok, but several others in the forum have mentioned that the low profile is too low for them.
