Default Speakers shorting out

2002 Road Glide-Had a factory speaker go out and replaced both with after market speakers. They work fine while idleing but intermittently short out above 50mph. Never had the problem with the factory speakers. The bike is wired for QD Tour Pak with speakers. The wires for the Tour Pak are piggy-backed onto the terminals of the front speakers, don't know if that would make a difference.
Any ideas?

Default RE: Speakers shorting out

You need to make sure you are hooking both the pos and neg from head unit to the speaker, then put some electrical tape around the terminals of the speaker so when you put it back in the door it don't ground out just isolate it from the metal you will be good to go.
