Pirate, I can and will say this with all honesty "I do intend to put a half a Million miles on her"
If my health is ok and I can at least do 40,000 a year, it will surely happen.
I'm 46 now, so I do have a few years left

RE: Too many miles???
Heather,
The mileage is not an issue if the bike has been maintained. Wife had a Lowrider with 47,000 and going strong. My roadking had 80,000 and going strong.
Just make sure that you pay used price for it and not some inflated price that people think they should get. Check NADA or Blue Book to get some ideas.
As far as the cam bearing goes, early engines had a cam bearing that was a caged roller bearing, instead of a solid roller bearing. They had a tendency to come apart with devastating results. If you find that the bike has these type bearings, just get them changed out.
Regards,
Bill

RE: Too many miles???
Thanks Bill! I will absoutly check into the bearings. I offered the guy $13,500 this morning. I did my research. Nada is showing a average retail of $13,495 - Kelly Blue Book is $14,820. Everything else I could find in the area for sale was between $14K - $15K for the equal bike. This bike has been very well maintained and the guy has service records. He was asking $14,500 so I hope he'll take the offer. Keep your fingers crossed!
