Pirate, I can and will say this with all honesty "I do intend to put a half a Million miles on her"
If my health is ok and I can at least do 40,000 a year, it will surely happen.
I'm 46 now, so I do have a few years left

Thanks everyone. You have made me much more comfortable with the decision. I can't wait to bring her home. I'll post pics as soon as I do!

that's less than 5000 miles a season. Buy the bike with confidence. I just sold my 1992 Softail Custom and it had 63000 on it and it does not leak a drop of oil, burn any oil and has 123 lbs of compression in both cyliders....your bike is just getting broke in, so enjoy!

Heather, I don't want to get you scared at all but you should ask if the bike hade new cam bearings instaled. I thought 1999 and 2000 modles had bad cam bearings.
I'm sure other people know more about it than I do.
It does not hurt to ask the owner.

Thats no mileage,If the scoot has been serviced right and taken care of it will run forever,Of course that is a geezers opinion.

Other than the previous cam bearing issue- I would not be afraid of it....See lots of bikes with 30, 40K60K. Ride with confidence (and if he can't make it , ride with us!)
