Looking to have a spare set oftins painted black and would like to find the deepest gloss black paint available, trying to get that wet, deep, showroom black paint job. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I know there is HD black, Chevy black, etc... I don't have a body shop located yet but would like to ask the experts on here before i go discuss costs. Thanks for your time, Mojo
I don't know if the color matters that much, it's the clear coat that gives it that deep wet look. It probably depends more on the skill of the painter too.
Thanks, I am gladly open to suggestions on a painter as I would much rather pay to have my tins sent somewhere to get the job done right. I am just looking for a solid black paint job no decals, pin stripes, etc just want the best black paint job I can get. Thanks again for everyones help!
mojo , ppg has a black that is called triple black works real well have painted a few vehicles with it really can see the difference when it's put up against an oe color. and yes clear really helps add depth
if you want deep black.....dont use clear use single stage......do like 8 coats, cut and buff and that sht will look crazy........ i paint for a living at a collision center so ive done a lot of trial and error.... get single stage
If your looking for a suggestion for a painter I'd recommend Cliff and Skip's Paintshop in Irishtown PA...exceptional painters. Their stuff has been to the Rats Hole...and cincy as well. You wont be disappointed.
