A dealer told me that it was better to trade in a bike stock rather than have it all fixed up because a dealer won't make as much money on selling part's, so I'd say to high.

Yes high but if I bought new I'd have $28 to 30k in it with all the goodies he's got on it...

Well,
If you plan on keeping it for a long time without wanting to trade or sell then go for it. If you even THINK you will want to trade up or sale in a few years, walk away. You will take a bath in it on both sides. (IMHO)

Good luck.

If it's honestly $28,000 worth of bike, stuff that you were going to buy, at $19,500 that's a good deal, but if you start taking crap off, it's too high of a price.

Kinda a farse in away with this Harley stuff. I've had several Harleys in the past and everybody wants all the chrome. We spend thousands of dollars and when it's time to sell all of a sudden the extra chrome and the year of the bike make it worth nothing again. People wanting to buy these used bikes want to pay nothing for them even when they are decked out with the exspensive chrome goodies everyone will tell you they want to pay a few thousand dollars under the new year bike price.
So then, everyone out there that has mega bucks in their Harleys are you taking huge hits on them?

I know with Harley producing more bikes now and in the future we will see staggering price drops in the used market. Kinda a farse...

The Chrome add ons are only worth it if you want it. The bike is not increased in value because it has a few bolt on chrome pieces. It's still a motorcycle, and it comes down to supply and demand. There are similar bikes out there for less. Not a farse, just a fact.
