Default Torque wrenches needed for 3 hole fluid change

Since I will be doing whatever work I can do on my 05 Road King, to start with, which torque wrenches (not brand) should I get for the 3 hole fluid change?

Thanks in advance.

you don't need them....

i suggest you do need

a 3/8 ratchet to remove

and a 1/4 ratchet to re install 😉

If you get a 3/8" digital that does both foot lbs and inch lbs you'll be golden.

Bikes and trucks I use torque wrench for plugs . Other stuff I don't. One reason is I have the values written on sheet on wall.

As stated above, you really do not need torque wrenches for an oil change. However, I use an inch pound torque wrench on the derby cover just so all the screws are even torque.

The primary, engine, and transmission plugs do not really need to be torqued (20 ft/lbs) if you tighten up as tight as you can get it with your hand held next to the front of the socket wrench.

If you need torque wrenches, these 3 below will cover all of your needs, good quality and reasonable price.

I never use a torque wrench when tightening the drain plugs. I always start off by hand tighten until it is snug to prevent cross threading. Then I use a ratchet until It feel tight.

Some good advice here ... Being unfamiliar with torque wrenches can get you in trouble ... To answer your question a 3/8 drive torque wrench will serve your needs for you 3 hole change ... Be sure that the setting is accurately adjusted ( inch pounds or foot pounds ) ... Be sure that you start each drain plug by hand and turn it in several threads to ensure that it is installed correctly ... I do not use a torque wrench on drain plugs as I've wrenching for more years than I can remember ... You develop a touch / feel for tight ... Good Luck
