For your Ion anti knock system to work correctly on yours as well as my 04 FI, you need Harley's branded spect low resistance plugs.
No, Harley doesn't make them but they are spec for their system. On a FI, they will easily go 20K and really you don't want to leave them in to long. Don't clean them. Just replace them ever 10K.
Just a touch of black anti-seize but keep it away from end, be sure screw on terminal is tight, check gap, and torque to minimum. I go about 1/8 turn past no play.
NGK will work fine as long as you don't dog it or run in the hills.
Get you a set of Harley's plugs and the coated plated NGK and check how much different the resistance is. The coil reads that and somehow (I forget, so Google it) and adjust ignition timing.
Don't run black (oxide coated for cast iron) plugs. And I do run NGKs. Flat land and I take it easy. I tell or use to tell myself that wrecking on a bike can get you worst then dead.

Obviously, you didn't read all the way thru my signature but OEM settles it too.

It is because of this I professionaly and personally would not use any other band than OEM. And no I didn't drink the cool-aid. Just a culmination of 47 years of wrench turning. Will other brands work? Maybe. But if I install any part thats better-er and it doesn't work out, as a professional shop I have to (and should) stand behind it. There are many aftermarket parts that are as good or better than OEM. In my experience electronic parts (or sub-parts) are usually not one of them.

FYI, Screaming Eagle lists two plugs for the TC. Standard compression and high compression applications. Just my thoughts, this goes back to the knock sensing function of the spark plugs.

To be honest - I did not know or think my bike had an Anti-Knock sensor. I'll have to look into that. Thanks guys,
I'm always learning when it comes to my FatBoy. Just found out yesterday that the oil filter is a real bitch to get off when the gorilla at the shop over-tightened the **** out of it at the oil change just before I bought the bike. Messy too. Need to fab an oil drain tray and modify the filter cup tool. I had to pull the CPS sensor to be able to get on the filter. Little job turned to PITA.

It's probably not a difference in the resistance built into the connector inside the porcelain. It's a slight difference in the heat range. That's determined by how far the tip where spark occurs is extended..
