Is the relays on the 89 Electra Glide Ultra Classic open or closed, or did they use both?

I know the starter relay has a single pole double throw switch ,meaning one open one closed, when coil pulls in it switches position.

 

So that makes since now, but I reckon I'm just not sure where my wife's connect then, on the initial power spade, or the switched spade? I'll take a pic of what I've got here shortly and post them.
