Gas tank cleaning.....
I'm new here, I'm positive this has been discussed at length. Feel free to post a link.
I'm getting magnetic debris in my carb, causing gas to dump out of my over-flow. I've cleaned it out 4-5 times think low mileage used bike. But, it's come to a point. I've read disassemble, use vinegar as a slow acting acid, to counter rust and oxidizatiin. Also Muriatic acid as a fast acting one. Some sort of metal media to agitate it. Just wondering what you guys do.

I know how to use the Google machine. I just don't need to watch 15 videos, that are 15 minutes each, to get through their personal information, self validation, name drops, advertising to get a few specific details. .
Anyway, I emptied the tank, and used a borescope to inspect the inside. There really wasn't a lot of rust and oxidization as I had ***-u-med. So I ran a rare Earth magnet along the outside of the tank to get anything magnetic into one spot. Then stuck a flexible magnet down the filler and collected as much as I could. (Half a teaspoon full, maybe). I pulled the petcock and put a rubber flat washer with an integrated metal screen, added a after-market in-line fuel filter between the petcock and carburetor. And everything seems to be fine.

An inline filter is not the cure, those things cause more problems than they cure, unless you clean that tank properly the issue will just get worse.
You need to clean the tank, first you must remove any residual tank liner material and then remove the rust.
Your favorite chemical, a handfull of wood screws, agitate until you cant shake the damned thing anymore, then keep shaking.
If it is only rust, it will be a fairly easy job, but if the tank has a liner it must also be removed.
Plenty of videos on youtube, do a search, or not, your choice.

Those filters also cause issues with vapor lock.
They don`t solve any problems, just create them.
