Oil line routing

Oil line routing
Here's one,
I broke an oil line bung from the tank on a ride home one day.
Oil sprayed everywhere so I pulled over and had wife pick me up and take us home.
Once home, I cleaned the area up and wanted to see if I had any engine damage so I started her and she fired up instantly.
I shut her down quick and began the tear down of the oid oil tank, swapping out a new one.
Routed the lines per factory, filled her up with fresh oil and BOOM, Would not start and couldn't get oil flow in the tank turning her over.
It's an aftermarket tank and I'm wondering if for some reason the line routing is different and if so, would that stop the engine from firing up.

No Max, I'm saying that when the tanks were swapped out, the engine turned over just fine but wouldn't light off.
Comp releases wouldn't even pop.
I noticed lots of air coming up into the tank but nothing circulating.
The routing bungs for this aftermarket tank were different than the factory tank.
The factory tank schematic I used to check my routing after the non start non ciruclating issue was correct.
A pic of a soft tail tank routing showed different than the factory schematic.
I swapped two lines to match and the bike instantly fired up.
It's weird, I guess you need to double check aftermarket stuff for continuity sometimes.
Most likely it came from overseas being half the cost of a factory tank.

A 127 Ultima resides in that frame
The lines that were swapped were the return and vent lines
needless to say once correct touting was done, the motor instantly fired off
