The only benefit I have learned so far from doing the breather set up is getting rid of all that sludge from going back into the engine and causing carbon build up .

Question here , what other benefits will I experience doing this , engine performance , life etc ? I've have been adding Sea Foam to my fuel to help keep things clean , I can only imagine it will just keep getting better , now that it's not competing against new oil entering the TB .

Intake and combustion chambers will be cleaner.

Performance and engine life stuff? Probably negligible.

A clean engine is a happy engine , I guess that's all that matters .

if you're disappointed with keeping sludge out of the throttle body being the only benefit, leave the stock setup. I'm very very happy to keep the sludge away from electronic components valves pistons and everything else.

No reason to be disappointed , just thought there was more to it than keeping the engine from building up carbon , since you mention electronics , that makes sense , appreciate your input ,

I've been thinking about doing this to my '18 FLDE. Does this cause any issues when the bike is inspected (I live in PA)?

I don’t believe that the small amount of oil vapors coming out of those two vents will be any more of a problem then the small amount of oil that passes by the piston rings.

My review , my buds who saw it , think it looks cool , so do I . I finally got a chance to get the bike out for a test run . What I did notice , is that sometime I would get a whiff of oil coming up , it's not bad , but then again it's not 90* out right now . I think I'm going to run with it next spring and see just how bad it gets . If I do decide to change it , I'll buy another cap and instead of drilling holes in the top for venting , I'll add another fitting and run the vent through a hose run along the frame towards the rear of the bike .

I ran mine through the frame and back by the LH passenger peg. It doesn’t look the greatest but I can always move it later.

Was out for a few hrs today and not once did I get that bad whiff of oil , beginning to wonder if it may have been a vehicle close by that caused it . I have a couple more days of riding before the temp really drops , so I'll know for sure then .

YZR , just what I was thinking , after putting another fitting on the cap I can run a hose along the bottom of the frame and out passed the swing arm .
