This was my simple way to fix it . I just cut a piece of clear 1/4” hose 71/2” long ,then made a small oval hole in it dead center with a X-Acto knife. And installed over the two breather nipples with the center hole facing the intake .

I know this is not the external fix, but it does keep the filter from getting saturated with oil .

Still a great idea , I never could understand why the breather hoses would be stuck inside the stock filter in the first place , how does the vapor / oil get sucked into the TB doing it that way . I'm no engineer , but I just can't see that working . I'm guessing that's why I had to replace the air cleaner every spring until I got my Big Sucker .

If you look at the OEM setup . The breather nipples are on the right and left side of the intake they have no chance of sucking any of the vapors into the throttlebody . In my setup, the hole in the center of the hose is directly above the throttlebody. So anything that comes out of it will get sucked into the motor .
And I have been running this setup for over 10 yrs and 30,000 miles with out a drip from the air filter .

That looks awesome. Were it me, I’d leave the hose black as I think the braided line going across would be too much bling and take away from the natural aesthetics, but that’s just my opinion.

I have to agree , I sat in the shop and contemplated the switch , the braided hose would be a little to much , especially since you can see it around the air cleaner , leaving it as it is .

Not sure why you would want it sucked into the combustion chamber. Do you really want to add hot oily air to what should be cool, dry air? You pistons will be a carboned up mess in no time.
