hi all, since this week I own a harley davidson road king from 2007. Had some starting issues, seemed to be a battery problem. Now replaced the battery, it seems to work, but after 100 meters the engine and battery lights go on. what could this mean?

 

Check all the connections. If new battery and cables tight, check charging system (stator and voltage regulator). When one goes bad, it can take out another. Check the codes that are present also.

 

 

Good chance your stator is out. If you have the cash I would do the regulator at the same time

 

Thanks for the help. Checked the cables as far as i could. where can i find the stator and regulator? checked the error code and it mentiones P0562.

The VR is down on the front of the frame by your oil filter. The stator is inside the primary under the compensator. Google or search here on how to test your charging system.
