Default fiberglass seat pan

Hi i’m Mark from the Netherlands Amsterdam

Im busy building a bagger
I want to fiberglass my seat pan and read some threads
What i want to know, can i start masking tape on top of the battery or do I need to put something on top first?

By no means am I a fiberglass expert, but I would think a few layers of tape ( some firmness) would be good for a profile.....

Seeing as how you do not list model or year, and I do not recognize your configuration, it would be a guess as to what to recommend. On my 2008 Road Glide, there is plenty of room above the battery to the bottom of the seat pan.

You could go with one of the 'new' super small batteries.

I would start with getting all of the battery connections on the side of the battery rather than on top as they are, looks like an evo either road glide or electra glide. The seat pan will need rubber feet where it contacts the frame, that'll give the clearance required.

thanks for the replys

i will add the battery connections to the front

should i also put some rubbers on top of the battery before making the seat pan

I wouldn't want to subject the top of the battery to that kind of pressure. You need to keep space in between battery and seat, additionally it allows air flow for cooling.
