After looking at several tour pack wall mounts, I decided I could make one myself. Mine isn't as fancy, but it works just as well.





You'll need the following items:
Angle iron with holes (trust me, it's easier than drilling your own)
1/2" copper tubing
3/8" threaded rod
1/2" spacers
Vinyl tubing
Screws for whatever medium you'll be fastening it to

I chose 1/2" copper tubing since its OD is almost a perfect fit tor the front attachment points on the docking mount. One piece of the threaded rod is inside the copper tubing.
The copper tubing is just a touch big for the rear ratcheting mounts, so I used the 3/8" rod again with some clear vinyl tubing over it to protect the mounts.
Use 1/2" spacers between the angle iron and the wall to provide enough clearance for the ratchets.
Mine has 13" between the angle iron pieces (the copper tubing is 13" long). I wouldn't go any narrower than that. 14" is plenty of room and no need to go wider than that.

Pretty simple and reasonably priced.

 

Looks good! Try PVC pipe over threaded rod to protect quick release hardware.

All the PVC pipe they had at the hardware store was too big OD. A plumbing supply house or big box store might have had some in smaller sizes, but I didn't want to drive all over town.

I did the same thing... slotted angle obtained from work (couple of scrap pieces, sand blasted and painted black), some 3/8 threaded rod, and some tubing that fit the quick disconnect fasteners. Simple, cut to length, screwed to wall at studs, and everything fits well. Easy to do. And it beats the expensive price HD gets for theirs.
