Default Question about S&S lifters

Ordered a set of standard S&S lifters from an ebay seller with an actual company name that I've forgotten....not just an individual.....and when I received them the package had been opened and resealed in a zip lock bag. When I emailed him to ask him about all the oil, he said they always fill them with oil before they send them out. They did look brand new.....no wear marks of any kind. Has anyone ever heard of this or have any experience with something like this?
Thanks

I purchased a set of premiums and a set of standards from different vendors last year. Both came sealed in what I believe to be packaging from S&S. Both were swimming in oil. That's all I got.

All the SnS lifters I have gotten cam in an SnS box and had light machine oil in them. You supplier might have pumped in some heavier oil. If they didn't come in an SnS box, they are likely the same lifter but not sourced through SnS. SnS does not make their own lifters.

S&S lifters should be marked that they are S&S premium. If its the base models maybe not.
Package should be sealed and look like this.

Yep, they were packaged like that only oily. Reason I posted this is because a lifter is ticking after a good warmup ride but after an overnight cool down and startup, it runs quiet and smooth. ......till after a few miles and it gets warmed up......then ticking again. I guess I'll open it up and check my push rod adjustment first and go from there.
Thanks

S&S states it takes about 50 miles for lifters to break in. I found its more like 250.

If you are getting lifter tick after warm up, you might want to re-adjust the lifters a little deeper. Say 0.140. If at startup, it's likely break-in. The plungers can be fit a little tight and need to wear in. Oil viscosity keeps the lifter from pumping up. It's a common issue with Woods high end lifters.

May not be a lifter ticking after warmup, could be something else. These machines make lots of rattling, ticking, etc. that isn't lifter noise.
