Default 6th Gear Indicator & Cruise Control

Just yesterday my 6th gear indicator and cruise started going on at off at same time. From what I read it's the clutch switch in the handlebar housing. It starts in gear with clutch in but it trys to lunge forward but doesn't actually move. I was just looking for confirmation before I tore into it. Also can I short out the switch to get cruise and 6th indicator back working? I assume then my bike could possibly start in gear. I was a little confused cause my radio display was also off and on but not same time as 6th indicator and cruise. I had just had Iron Cross rebuild my radio over winter so I thought I was done with radio issues. Guess not. Display would go out but the clock did not go back to 12:00 so I assume it wasn't losing power. Also the AUX Jack sounds horrible. Tried multiple cords and IPods and was muffled and low volume. Thank you for your help! Bryan.

The big question would be does it start in gear with the clutch out... That will tell you that the clutch switch is saying the clutch is pulled in when it's not. The slight lunge is normal.

Based on your description I would guess that you possibly lost a ground inside the fairing but I don't think anyone else can help here unless you provide year and model.

I will try starting in gear with clutch out...thank you. i will also go through all the connections. Curious thing is the clock does not reset or lose time when the power is absent.

It's possible that your stereo issue and cruize / 6th issue are not related. Your symptoms are hard to follow but another issue could be that your clutch is slipping.

Maybe that's your problem then?
