Default 12 inch handle bars

I have a 09 ultra classic with stock handle bars that I would like to replace with 12 inch tall bars, will I have to replace the clutch cable and brake line, and is there enough slack in the wiring to do this, thanks for all your help

Some will no and some will say yes, when I did my 12” bars on my 13 SG I did +6 on clutch cable and brake lines and I extended the wires and replaced the TBW sensor to eliminate the green plug.

If you decide to not replace you will be stretching all part to the max,,,good luck

I just replaced my stock bars with KST Six Bend Kicker 10", the manufacturer told me I didn't need to extend anything. When I ran the wiring outside the bars as the stock bars were I had plenty of excess wiring. But the KSTs required internal wiring in order to operate properly and this required all the slack I could get from inside the fairing. Anything taller than the 10" and you will need to extend everything.

Mine is a 2015, hydraulic clutch and brake lines. I extended the wires, so they weren’t tight internally. I used the factory hydraulic lines, rerouted on Yaffe 12” Monkey bars, which most say measure taller.

Do it right, extend the cables...otherwise (1) your clutch will slip during hard right turns and (2) you'll have everything tight like a guitar string which will strain cables. I initially stuck w/stock cables on my '09 FLHX, but did a ton of under-fairing clean-up & re-routing. Ended up extending the clutch cable (later), but I did swap TBW during install.

Trust me, if you're going to go through all that work, swap the cables.
