Default Passenger Grab Handles of some sort

My wife is used to having grab handles on the back of my previous motorcycles. I'm now on a Sport Glide and looking to do some touring this summer with my wife on the back. All the passenger grab handles I can find were for 2013 and earlier touring bikes. I'm thinking about fabricating some for the Sport Glide. I'll wait until I get a new passenger seat this spring for design fitment (the stock Sport Glide passenger seat is a bad joke).

I wanted to check around here and see if anyone has fab'd up some kind of passenger grab handles?

I see tons of those grab handles for sale everywhere. I am trying to avoid drilling holes in my fender to mount the older touring style. If I don't come up with a better solution, I may go that route.

Have a look at Oxford Rider OF589 Passenger Grips. I use these on my Breakout and they are brilliant pieces of kit. Not sure if they are available your side of the pond but there’ll be something similar no doubt.

I'm looking for some rigid and bike-mounted.

The biggest advantage to bike mounted grab handles is allowing the passenger to hold herself back during hard braking...whether during aggressive riding/cornering or emergency braking. We have had experience with the latter. A truck turns left in front of us pulling a triple-axle trailer of scrap metal. Luckily my wife was holding on to the handles when I put the works to the brakes. Otherwise, she would have slammed in to the back of me ... possibly upsetting balance or interrupting my maximum-effort braking.

I ended up fabricating my own solution. I got some handles off Amazon, then made some mounting brackets out of 3/16" flat stock.

Prototype...

Assembly and fender strut modification...

Final product...

Nice job.

Harley will be offering this as an option, something like $800 per side.

As long as I don't go on a diet, my girl has plenty of handles to grab onto. LOL

(I can't believe no one else said that first)
