Default Question about cam chest cover

Hello everyone, first time posting and one quick question.I purchased a 06 street glide last August with 31000 miles on the clock.Do you have to remove the entire exhaust system or can you just remove the front pipe to get the cover off the cam chest. It has the stock exhaust.Thanks,Dave.

we’ll you definitely have to remove the headers. If you can somehow leave the rest in place then by all means leave it

it doesn’t work that way. Header is in the way. Get service manual so you do it right

My 04 has a stock exhaust off a TC96 Night Train. All I needed to do was loosen the heat shield and roll it around.
Cover came fwd and off to inspect. If you pull cam plate and oilpump, might want to remove it.
Is so, replace that crush gasket and don't over tighten slip on exhaust band clamp. (If someone has not already done that) . Those two side bolts hold mufflers on, not the band to manifold pipes.

Pretty sure the Dana came with roller chain on tensioners in 06. Not sure about yours. If it has roller chain, you are good for 100k

Touring did not come with hydraulic tensioners until 07 TC96.
