sundowner seat vs mustang seat...which is better?
I'll be taking delivery of my 05 RK classic next week. I think the first change that needs to be made is the seat. Have any of you ridden on both the Harley sundowner seat and the Mustang seat? I've ridden on Mustangs before, but have no experience with the sundowner. I would appreciate any feedback on these or other seats that you guys like.
Thanks,
Rick

I have an '04 Ultra Classic and my advice to you is to ride your new bike for a while and see if you like that seat. Seats are too expensive to just change because they look good or someone else says they are good. Find others in your area that have a mustang seat and see if you can ride it on your bike and see if you like it. It takes some time to find the seat you like the best, but I think that if you have a little patience and some research....you will find the seat you like. My Ultra has the stock 4 stich seat, I added the matching adjustable backrest and it is very comfortable.
Just some food for thought.......

It won't hurt to try it, and shoot, you already own it...

I agree with these guys advice and ride as is, till you get a chance to do your homework on what exactly you're looking for.
http://www.corbin.com/saddles.shtml has a great line of seats as well.
Let us know what you decide on.

I forgot to mention, I rented an 04 RK classic to make sure it was really the bike I wanted. I put a little over 200 miles on it. After about 30 miles, the seat was already feeling uncomfortable. My wife hated the narrow, rearward sloped pillion. I'm currently trying to get the dealer to throw the sundowner in to close the deal. If I don't like the sundowner, I can get the mustang, and I'm not out anything. I'll let you know how it turns out.

my buddy let me ride his RK when i was still looking at the fat boy, and he had a mustang seat on it....my wife rode with me for a few miles, and when i told her i liked the RK better, she agreed. then she said " You can go ahead and get you bike. But you better have a mustang seat on it if you expect me to ride!!!"
i never tried the sundowner, but i love my mustang!!!!
