Just checked have 15700miles with .09 inch left or 3/32 on rear, this is a 140 tire so I'm sure that helps.

The local Harley Dealer is pushing Michelin Comander tires.

I'll be looking for an Avon Cobra when the time comes.

I’m running the Cobras on my 08 Ultra and love the way they handle. I have been caught in several heavy downpours and not once did the tires lose traction. When you decide to buy the Cobras go to Avons website and find the recommended tire pressure for solo/ 2 up light and 2up heavy. I stay with these recommendations and so far im getting the miles out of these tires and when it comes to the time to change i will be buying them again.. Amazing how a good set of tires can make a bike feel like a whole different machine ( in a good way) ... before The Avons i had The Dunlops and those tires were down right scary . Evey crack in the road they followed and in the rain i would be white knuckling it....Anyways Avon Cobras are a great choice in my opinion

The avons were nitce on my 07 EG bit only lasted 4500 miles. The handling wasn't too bad as they wore out. When temps got real hot, over 110 they turned greasy. I just burned through a set of cobras in a 17 RK.. They handled nice for the first 3000 miles but squared off and the bike really didn't want to take the corners for the next 2100 miles. The rear only lasted 5100 miles. While I like to roll it on out of the corners, So Cal roads are pretty hard on tire. Michilens work well here on a heavy bike.. I got about 8500 on the 07 egc with either CIIs or Dunlop E3s. Also got 8500 on an 03 RK. IMO both locale and the bike you are riding will have perform differently. Not sure I'd run Micheleins on a higher perf dyna for instance. Lighter bike might spin the tire.

I’m going to try the SHINKO 777 next. I hear great reviews, looks great, and priced right.

Metzler has been my go to for years, but they went down hill after they introduced the ME888.
