A good battery tester is about 400-500 bucks.. More than a new battery.. Harbor Freight sells an older carbon pile one for $50 but they are fragile and not that accurate. Best AGM battery is the Yuasa GYZ series.. GYZ32HL
As Ripsaw stated a volt meter is the minimum.. Simply put across the batter and press the start button.
