Default sportster build

ok, so i bought a 2006 Sportster 1200 custom frame, motor and drivetrain. The guy i bought it from was going to build a bobber. I have different plans. I am completely new at this, so i would appreciate all the help i can get. This will be a long term project as i can afford parts.
I would like to make this look like an old school bike, like a 50-60's era panhead cruiser.
Please feel free to tell me honestly whether i can do this or not.

Thanks

google images can be your friend. the evo engine will never come close to the image of a pan, knuckle, shovel or iron. it will be hard pressed to do so but the styling is def a possibility. if you make the frame stand out, the engine will not as hd did with the 48. please post your progress, you will be inspiration to others who want to do the same, your canvas, paint it like you want.

Thank you. I do realize that the engine can never look like one of the old bikes. I love the look of those old cruisers, but dang, who can afford one? So I guess I'm trying to make this sporty look close. I Will definately post pics as I go along.

Terry, welcome to HDF from the UK. We have a separate Sportster section, where you can meet up with other members who own them and you'll find it easy to pick their brains - nothing members like more than help someone spend their money!
