I bought the Harley short angled mounts and the Harley streamliner pegs to mount on my 2017 RGS highway bars. I am having a bitch of a time attaching the pegs to the mounts. When I think I have it lined up the screw bolt doesn’t catch.
Has anyone else had difficulty with this? I’m really screwed lol
any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m ready for the ball breaking.

sorry for the large pic, but this is what I'm dealing with. I know it should be tight to slide in with the spacer, but I've had to hit it with a rubber mallet to get it down. Then I still can't get the screw to catch when the opening looks pretty clear. I just have the top screw in there so I don't lose it. I wasn't hitting the screw with the mallet.

It’s a little hard to tell for sure but it looks like the spring washer is slightly tilted so maybe the shaft is catching on the lip of the spring washer preventing it from moving down. Try using a small screw driver and pry the spring washer up out of the bottom.

I used a rubber mallet. Make sure the set screws are backed out. I found it easier if you have the peg at a 90.
