Default O2sensor

I have a 2008 Road Glide the code is coming up it needs a new O2 sensor should I put a wideband O2 sensor in it to make it run cooler that's what I have been reading or stick with the original

The only way to make wide band sensors work is to have an aftermarket tuner that is designed to use them. Just get the OEM replacement.

Go ahead and try it on your bike without the sensors, let us know how it runs.
The only time it will run better without them is when a tuner is used that has O2 eliminators as part of the package.
Without the feedback from the sensors, the ECU won't know what to do at low and mid rpms.
