cruise roll off problem

RE: cruise roll off problem
I don't know about a newer bike, but on the cruise kit I installed on my 93 FLHS, the idler cable is where the rolloff switch is. There is a specific amount of 'play' that has to be adjusted into that particular cable so the cruise won't disengage when hitting bumps, etc. Normal riding should not trigger the cruise control off.
On my bike the rolloff switch (which is really just two metal washer that are separated with a rubber washer) isunder the right side of the tank. There will be two wires leading off it into the harness.
I'd probably look at the FSM and see what the specs are for the various cable's play. I know there is a slight amount of free play on the cruise cable also. It's not a difficult thing to diagnose, there's even a'self test' function (at least on mine therewas).
On another note, I rarely use the rolloff to cancel the cruise. I guess it's good in an 'emergency' situation, but for the most part I simply tap the front brake while holding the throttle.
