Hello, I just got a 2013 Heritage with only 1180 mi. on it. It's like new. I wanted to take off the gas cap and it turns freely but then stops and I have to fight with it the rest of the way. I don't know why that is but I just took the one off my '93 Heritage and it fits fine. The newer one sits so close to the tank and is smooth and the '93 is a little more raised and is easier to grip when turning it. Jim

 

Theres a service bulletin to reshape the threads in the tank due to ethanol fuel swelling the plastic threads on the cap, no charge to you at the dealer and takes a few seconds to do!
