Bad Battery?

The last couple weeks before putting my bike into storage I had to boost it twice at one week intervals (rode it on the weekend, tried to fire it up the weekend after, not enough juice). It wasn't dead, the engine was turning, but it wasn't powerfull enough to turn it over for a start.
Took the battery off after the last ride of the year before storage and measured the voltage : 12.7 (full according to the book). Then the week after, 12.6 and the next week 12.5.
Battery is off the bike on a plastic shelf inside.
Looks like battery might be dead or dying. I don't know how old it is, a bought the bike used this summer from a dealer.
Thoughts ?
Thanks
JP

Charge it using a proper battery charger, then get it tested at a local auto store - many of them will do that for no charge. If it tests OK then buy a battery tender and use it, which will extend your battery life significantly. On the other hand your battery may only last another year or so and some members have had them fail much sooner. I've had them last as little as six months right through to 11 years!
