Does anyone know which harley davidson had crankcase #64xlgh4573. The case is scratched, so the "g" could actually be a "c". Any help appreciated.

Thanks Guys. I am trying to determine what year this may be. The owner inherited the bike, and has no idea what year it is, and no paperwork. Trying to determine the proper carb settings, or any tune-up specs. It is in a Scrambler chassis, but a Sportster motor. Been sitting up for years.

 

Take a look at this website, which suggests your engine is a 1964. There are other websites giving similar info, which you can also check. Do a search on 'sportster engines' which should give you a choice of photos of engines you can look through. Otherwise post us some photos and we'll do our best! If your engine is indeed that old it is unlikely the carb is original.
