Default ClutchWIZ & CVO Clutch Spring

I purchased the ClutchWIZ for my 2013 FLHTK and I'm wondering if anyone has put one on a touring bike without changing the clutch spring (37871-98A stock)?
I had surgery on my left middle finger and Dayton is coming fast and the stiff clutch may cause a problem for me.
I won't have any good weather up here to get it out and try the ClutchWIZ with the stock spring out for slippage so I'm thinking of looking for a CVO spring (37807-03 364 lbs.) as suggested on the ClutchWIZ site.

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. I like the look of the Clutchwiz, but unfortunately they don't make them for my earlier bike. The basic info on their website says to use it with your stock spring, so I don't see where the suggestion of a CVO spring comes from?!

Per their Web Site

Do not order a ClutchWIZ™ for a TWO WHEEL Touring model without upgrading your clutch spring. If you do not and order one anyway then the ClutchWIZ™ will not work properly.

Interesting! That's in contrast with another statement: "It's that easy. Simply remove your derby cover, remove the 6 - 10 mm bolts, install the ClutchWIZ™ and adjust your clutch." Buyer beware!

At the Top of the page (which is the Home Page) that you found that statement, they also make the following statement"

Will reduce your Harley® clutch lever pull by up to 40%
Harley Big Twin Cam® Engines from model year 1998 to present
Tri Glide® - Softail® - Dyna®

"Tri Glide - Softail - Dyna" ... NO mention of Touring

On the same page they state:

It is important that you read the Tech Talk link. Read all the info on this site before ordering.

Where Uncle Larry found:
Do not order a ClutchWIZ™ for a TWO WHEEL Touring model without upgrading your clutch spring....

Keyword being "Touring"

Yes, it's a bit of a jumble, that website, which is a shame. Rearranged it could be a lot more user friendly! I've read good reports of the product itself which is why, some while ago, I looked to see if one will fit my '90 Evo.

Due to an finger injury I installed the Clutch Wiz on my Dyna. This was a couple of years ago and in talking to the Wiz people (that sounds weird) there was no mention about changing the spring. Then again, it was for a Dyna.

Yes, it was my signal/middle finger. I think it's called RMD- Repetitive Motion Disorder, or something like that. Actually it was some kind of arthritis.

The CW helped a lot. Then I put on an Oberson adjustable clutch lever because I needed it closer to the bars and between the two the pull is very light and short.

My finger got a lot better and now I'm back to using it like before. Yay.
But I'm still gonna keep the CW.
