Default Hot Battery, still won't start

I went to start my 2013 Street Glide and it wouldn't start, nothing, wouldn't turn over at all, no click, no nothing. Headlight was burning bright but I've been tricked by head lights before. So I check the connections and they are clean. After this I spent 2 hours reading different post on HD Forums looking for a solution to the problem. Everything I read pointed to a bad battery, after all is was 2 1/2 years old so I thought I could be bad. I went to Batteries Plus and purchased a new battery for $141.00 brought it home and put it in the bike. Still same problem! So then I check all the fuses, starter connections, switches etc. I called a friend and asked him for advice on this and it said maybe it's the battery in your FOB. So I took my extra FOB out to the garage and like magic the starter engages and the bike starts.
So if your bikes starter won't engage and you think your battery is ok check your FOB battery before you make a dumb *** mistake like I did.
This forum has been very helpful to me many times in the past but this time I couldn't find anything to help me out, hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future.

So it was the battery - just a different battery than what you initially thought...as they always say - always check the simple things first...glad you got her fired up....

Some of us would have told you to check the Fob battery amongst other things first. Always start out with the inexpensive fixes first!

Little confused here since my 2004 only has the the push button FOB. My friend rode off on his after I had worked on it and he did not notice it was just near his bike. I carried it to him later when he turned it off. Is there nothing that flashes on the dash or anything to show you it is getting a start signal? Surely there is a way around this with the signal light switches in an emergency?

The only fix is to program the bike with a 4 code so if the fob doesn't work and you have no spare batteries. the bike can still start. Check the owners manual for the proper procedure. The code has to be entered though.
