Ignore the solenoid part of the title, I was thinking of something else when I typed the title lol. Tonight I disassembled the air cleaner assembly and saw this mounted to the back of it. I can't locate it in the shop manual. Anyone know what it is specifically? It's right below the throttle body.





I'm going to be putting on a new Screamin Eagle Ventilator air cleaner and there's no mounting point to put it back on. Any recommendations on what I should do or is leaving it hanging behind the new bracket safe?

 

Best I've been able to find out is that it is an unused part used only on some export models. The advice I've gotten is to just zip tie it up out of the way and forget about it.

 

+1 on that. I used doubled sided tape to the back of the backing plate.
