Default Help please: rotate bar risers 180 degrees?

I want to move the handlebars on my Softail "Slim Boy" forward, for more arm room while riding. I thought about cutting an inch or 2 from the end of these black "hollywood" bars.

Question: Can I just rotate the bar risers 180 degrees? This would move the bar about 1 inch forward, since the risers have @ 1/2 inch "pull back".

I have the service manual, but I can't tell if there is some kind of "clock" or notch to prevent me from trying this mod.

Thanks, Steve
