Default New throttle grips sticking

Doing ape hangers and thought the cables were binding. Think the bars are a touch thick. I can get the factory grip to snap back but not the Kury or Avon. Any advice?

Not that this is much help to you but I put a set of Khrome Werks bars on my '14 limited last year and had the same problem with the stock grips, the throttle would not return back, I had to use a liquid graphite lube that i use on bicycle chains on the bar under the throttle to make it pop back. I think it's an issue with Khrome Werks product.
Any way try a little lube, worked for me.

I was thinking about some dry lube. Hit it with some Rem Oil last night, didn't do anything. Switched to the Kury grips today after finding out the left Avon isn't deep enough and magically got some snap.

Honestly those were the ones I wanted to go with but the Kury's were a better fit. With the Avons I would have had to put the clutch housing over the inlet for the wiring, just didn't seem like a good idea.

Same thing happened with my Arlen Ness grips. I used a little long lasting lube(fluid film) but do not use anything with a propane base(wd-40)! Anyways after that and some riding they loosened up when they wore in a bit.

Avoid using lube - dry or otherwise....I've seen that stuff turn gummy and make the situation worse.
Twice I've had bar/grip combos that were a little too tight for the throttle to snap back and in each case I solved it with a combination of scotch brite, fine grained sandpaper, and elbow grease.
Remove the controls and twist the sandpaper around the handlebar like your revving the throttle until it turns freely.
Done.

On chrome bars? I've sanded powder coated bars for the same reason. The thought crossed my mind but wasn't sure sanding chrome would help or make it worse. It's got some snap now, hoping it just works it way loose but if it binds up again I might have to try it.
