Default Throttle cables

I put new taller bars and new cables on my 98 fxd. This is probably a stupid question and somthing so dumb. But I can't seem to get all the slack out of the throttle cable or the idle cable. A lot of slack in each. Tried adjusting them in both directions and no change. They aren't broken and they're in the slots they belong. Thank you for any help.

What is the travel of your stock cables and what is the travel of your new cables? It sounds like your new cables have more travel and will never adjust properly. You may need to get new cables...again.

If you're adjusting them then the length of the cable vs. the length of the casing is definitely changing - it just may not be changing enough to take out the slack in your current configuration. Are you sure you didn't buy throttle/idle cables that are too long for your bar setup?

I've done lotsa ape installs over the years. It can certainly be a challenge to the patience levels and wallet if ya don't measure correctly the first time. Been there, bought the T-shirt, multiple times.

Best of luck!
