Default New here & need help with handlebars

Just bought 2012 road king & need to raise handlebars. I'm 5'9" & was thinking 14" apes, but after reading some posts here I read go 2" taller than I want. Not to sure about pull back either., would like my wrist to be kinda horizontal straight. Help would be much appreciated before I spend the money. Thank you

Not sure if you're dead set on apes, but maybe just try 4" risers first. They only cost about $40 and are easy to install and you can use existing cables. 4" risers will raise your bars 2 1/2" and move them back 1 1/2". With apes you'll need new cables. JMO

I also heard that if I put 12" handlebars on I don't have to change the wires & brake lines. Is this true?
