Default throttle prob

I am having a problem with my throttle. It is in the grip. When I release the throttle and it snaps back and stops, it goes a little further past the stop point and sticks. I took apart the switch housing (where the starter switch and run switch are) but could not see a problem. Any help??

Are your cables adjusted too tight? Or what about the throttle lock under the bar, is it partially on?

I didn't mess with anything. One day I just noticed it sticking. It sticks at the point where the throttle is closed.

Are you sure that it is the throttle itself sticking and not the cables or the throttle body linkage? Did you lube the cables lately?

I ended up turning the star shaped, spring loaded adjuster screw under the switch housing on the throttle. I didn't have to turn it much. It did the trick and didn't seem to alter the idle when I start the bike. Before that I did lude the cables, that didn't seem to have any effect.

Glad you found the problem. That throttle lock has been the demise of more than one person.
