Default Took the Son's Ninja for a ride and

I lasted about 1 hour. I'm in good shape, very active with my boating, fishing, and hunting, but my 50 year old butt and wrists were crying after an hour. Yea it was fun I guess. Now here's the goofy part. As I was out riding this thing on some nice back road farmland in the area, how many rockets did I see? NONE. How many Harleys didI see? About 25 in an hour (65 degree sunny day). Yep,I felt funny waving to these guys on Harleys while not on mine, most did not wave back. Got home and sat on the RKC, just re-affirms, Harley forever.

A buddy of mine who has ridden BMW bikes for a million years recently bought a Yamaha V-Max. Now the V-Max certainlyisn't the most radical bike on the road but it seemed like a funny way for himto go after riding a K1200LT for the past 5 years. He's really getting into it too, with a hot pipe and jetted carbs.Apparently trying to feed his new-found need for speed.

I guess I can live without the 10-second quarter mile.

Well Dave_E, you did a lot better than my 31 year old butt did. I know exactly what you mean, when I first bought my CBR 600RR I could only last about half an hour. It took a lot of gettin used to but it is well worth it. I enjoy riding both sportbikes and Harleys, but Harley has and always will be my true love. Good to see you at least tried it!

When I sold metrics I tried them out a couple times. I couldn't last very long on one of them.

A friend and I took a 3-day, 1400-mile loop through Idaho, Oregon, and back to northwestWashington a few years ago.He on his Polaris Victory and me on my FXRS Convertible. At the last minute his25-year-old son decided to go with us on his 600 Suzuki crotch rocket. We didn't ride hard but we rode steady, 500+ miles per day. Bynoon on the second daythe kid was stopping at least once between gas stops to rest his back and legs and by the last day he was in major distress. He kept asking how in hellwe could ride hour after hour without taking a break (Mustang seats on both bikes). By the time we got back home he was steady talking aboutdumping the crotch rocket fora cruiser-style bike.
