Had a friend last summer change out some bars at the dealer,, ended up around $850 If I remember right..

 

I got a $1400 price quote to swap our my old sportster bars! No new wiring or cables. I literally started laughing and the guy walked away. That kind of profit margin, even with an overhead cost component is ridiculous.

 

I put on the WO 518 bars which only needed extensions for controls added(I I extended about 9-10" wires and soldered) .The clutch and brake cables were fine. Just takes a little patience. It's been perfect. Get a manual though.

 

I put a pair of roadking bars on my dyna, no cable or wire changes bought the bars from Harley 89.00, installed them myself. total 89.00 2hrs of my time

 

I had mine changed out this year. A Dallas shop quoted me $1300 for parts and labor. The shop in Waco did it for $425. It shows that you need to shop around.

 

I just got my RK back last night. Had a bunch of additional work done but the breakdown for the bars install was 2.2 hrs@ $95.00 just for the labor..no cable extensions needed.
