Default warranty issueH

Hi from the uk,my dealer wants £1400 for a stage1 kit, i would rather go to an independent for obvious reasons but the warranty issue bothers me, i have read lots of opinions on this forum in the past but does anyone know EXACTLY what legal stance is regarding the dealer voiding my warranty,so that if i do need to go to the dealer i can tell them chapter and verse why they cant use the line"sorry you went elsewhere, goodbye" many thanks.

Gez45, I think you will need to check your laws in your country. Here in the US we have some laws that protect the consumer from some warranty problems. In simple terms the company has to prove that the changes you make caused the failure of a warranty part. Simply changing the slip-ons or air filter won't void the warranty on the complete bike. The parts you change won't be under the bike warranty but unless it can be shown that the change caused the failure then the warranty is still good on the rest of the bike.

In the UK this will not apply unless you have something like this.

£1400! Isn't that about equal to $2800 USD? That is a LOT of money for a stage 1.
