You know, that whole "Anniversary Edition" crap is just so they can charge you more for a bike. IMO, they should only do the "Anniversary Edition" think every 25 or 50 years, not every 5 years. Come on HD, who gives a crap if you made it another 5. Don't call it Anniversary anything. Just call it Harley-Davidson!!
I agree,

What idiot is going to shell out the extra cash H-D wants for the "Anniversary" editions??[sm=confused06.gif]

I know for a fact (or as close to fact as I can get)that the MoCo has been testing a Revolution engine based tourer for the past two years. How do I know this, because my nephew works for the motor company. When or if they will introduce the bike he does not know, but he did say that according to the people in the know, the bike was killer.

ps, my nephew is now going to kill me so this may be my last post...........

I wouldn't mind seeing an engine hour meter in addition to the odometer/trip. digitial display. This way, you have the odometer, push it again....then you have the trip(hold to reset of course). Push it one more time...then the engine hour meter appears.

Airplanes and tractors have them installed. Many GM trucks have them now. I just think it would be nice and beneficial to HD.

I don't doubt you or your nephew. I asked Willie G about this3 months ago and his reply convinced me. 'Before we do anything like that, we need to make sure it's special. We don't want to just add a batwing or Road Glide fairing to a V-Rod.' (Not an exact quote but very close.)

Didn't say yes we are, but definitely didn't deny it either. My guess is this year or maybe for '09.

What are the biggest difference between the Hertigae Softail, the RK, the Street Glide and Electra Glide Standard (besides fairing and hard vs soft bags)?
Not much difference between the Heitage and the rest of 'em you mentioned except for the engine, frame and suspension.

I'm up for a water cooled bagger. The EPA will force it sooner or later, so why not make it sooner.

HD will not abandon the air cooled motor. Do you think they would purposely destroy the company? They will add a water cooled bagger when the market wants it and they can make money on it. And it will not replace any of the air cooled baggers. And it will not be in a high reving Revolution format. They would definately need to bump up the size, lower the RPMs, add low end torque to the motor.

The TC96 just came out. They just spend tons of money on the design and have patents for at least 7 years. I doubt you will see its replacement until 2014. Just like the TC88 lasted 7 years (99-06).
