Aftermarket Super Coils
Does anyone have any experience with using super coils (accel, msd, etc) in place of OEM?
Benefits/risks?

I've had a few on cars and bikes. Never noticed any difference in performance. I suppose if you were running on a dragstrip, and measuring by 100th's of a second, there could be some advantage.

Yes. I have rarely ever had a stock oem coil go bad, maybe 1x EVER. But I have had many aftermarket coils go bad and sometimes the new out of the box ones have gone bad. I did have 1 Accel coil that lasted forever, I used it to replace a Mallory coil that went bad on my 482" Chev, but I bought 2 Accel coils one to install and 1 for a back up. Of course I never needed the backup since I had one with me, LOL

Used the Accel SuperCoil on my '82 Chevy with HEI simply because it looked so much better than the OEM unit, and ran an Accel coil on my old FXR for many years 'just because.' Both units lasted forever and a day....
