Default Installing tank panel

I want to replace the OEM leather tank panel with another one on my 07 Heritage Softail, I am thinking it should be easy but would appreciate someone walking me through it.

Very easy, just loosen the chrome nut that holds your dash in place so it'll lift up a bit, then there is a torx screw at the bottom, you may need to remove your seat to reach it.

What Stro1964 said...it is a breeze. Loosen (you don't even have to fully remove...) the lug nut holding the speedo down tight to the tank, and remove the screw at the back of the panel (may have to remove the seat, or at least have someone hold the front of it back for you...I had mine off anyway, when I did it...), and it just comes off. Put the new one in place, replace the screw at the back, center it, retighten the lugnut on the speedo, and presto/chango...you're done!

If you changing to a completly different type such as chrome it can be a pain in the but then a lot of things are. When changing to a narrower strip yo will probally have to buff out the marks left by the old divider. Those leather strips do eat into the paint.[8D]
